Energy Performance Certificates are European Legislation and every sale or rental property must have one from the point when the property is marketed. They give a relative guide to how energy efficient a property is and provide recommendations that would improve the efficiency although there is currently no obligation to make improvements.
Our expectation is that the Energy Efficiency of properties will become more regulated as there is a Worldwide drive towards saving energy and even in the last few months the local councils are taking a far greater interest in poorly insulated and heated rental properties.
We can arrange for an Energy Performance Certificate to be carried out which is relatively inexpensive and they do last for 10 years.
